Remembering the ANZACs by Dominic

Remembering the ANZAC's

Thursday 23rd April 2015

On a dark clear night I went on a plane to Wellington at 10 o'clock at night!  My brother and I stayed awake the whole way.  When we got to Wellington it was 11 o'clock at night, when we got to my aunty's house it was 11:30pm, we were already for bed because we flew down wearing our Pj's.  Me, my brother Ashton and my mum were the only ones who went to Wellington. Daddy had to stay home and look after Jessie (Jessie is pregant) and Buzz our dogs.

In the morning we went to a ANZAC Parade in the City, the first thing we saw was horses with a band around there head with a white screen coming down. There were soldiers riding them, there were a lot of horses.  There were soldier cars, big Army trucks, there weren't any Army tanks. After the whole show, I got interviewed by a One News reporter. They asked me which part I liked. I said "the whole thing!". I felt really excited to be on the news.

Saturday 25th April 2015

It was cold and dark, my family, my aunty Jenna and cousin Annabel (Annabel is 3 or 4 years old)  went to the Dawn Parade and service, there was a really tall tower and it was white.  We had to stand behind cars because they reckon there were about 4,000 people.  There was a LOUD ANZAC gun fire. I didn't get a fright, but my little brother Ashton and my cousin Annabel did. There was a lot of talking, lots of different Chiefs talking about war.  It was 8:30 in the morning when it finished and we went to a Restaurant for breakfast, the Restaurant was called Spruce Goose, we didn't end up going there but it would take too long for our breakfast to come. We went to Burger King and we all got a crown.
